Way TOO fast & I don't like one bit! On the 14th April our youngest daughter turned 12, I'm not sure where the last 12 years have gone, but I do know that I have enjoyed every last minute of having this beautiful girl in my life. Tayla is a precious gift, one that I thankful for everyday, but don't for one second let her sweet face fool you, she can be feisty, she will stand up for herself no matter what... she is the youngest of the girls & she has three brothers & anyone with brothers, know how brothers can be!! at times she has no choice but to be feisty, grit her teeth & stand her ground & sometimes I feel sorry for her brothers.. the wrath of Tayla can be very unpleasant! She is my sunshine on a cloudy day, she has a big heart full of compassion & love, she loves her nephew & niece & they love HER, she excels academically, she CAN sing, she loves animals, she wants to be a Marine Biologist & just about everything she does, she does it with perfection, I'm am so blessed to be her mum, she fills our lives with so much joy & most of all LOVE. I love you sweet girl... to the moon & back & then some... xo

Long weekend...

Our long weekend started off with Sam playing soccer very early Saturday morning.. 8.30am!! they had a draw with Sam scoring a goal :) then it was home for a decent coffee & a movie marathon, it was the perfect lazy day. Sunday, was time to get together at the park and celebrate Dale's birthday (our niece's hubby) the kids had fun looking for crabs, climbing trees & playing in the water. One of the kids found some rope, they tied it to a pole & started jumping over it, there was up to 4 people jumping over the rope at the one time.. see pic below, even some of the adults got into it! The weather was perfect, it was a lovely relaxing day spent with family. Monday was a cruisey day, lunch & a little shopping... Tayla LOVES the stationary shop Smiggle, she received a Smiggle gift card for her birthday recently, so it was time to shop & this girl knows how to shop, pencil case, erasers, highlighters, pencils & pens that are scented, & she has money left for another trip to Smiggle, I think she was rather pleased with herself!! We are always amazed how busy this shop is every time we go there, which is a lot!! Sam (or rather dad!!) bought a Nerf gun, it shoots foam darts that have suction caps on the end.. he's had so much fun shooting the windows, my oven & everything else, but he hasn't shot the darts at anyone... well not yet anyway!! It was a great weekend, just what my little family needed! and guess what... this weekend is another long weekend & I can't wait :) The photos below are from Sunday at the park, have a great week everyone!

Lochie's 1st Birthday..

Easter Monday was time for celebrating Lochie's 1st birthday. I can't believe a year has gone by already!! Lochie wasn't 100% on his birthday, he had a slight temperature & was just not his usual happy self, we think it may have his teeth.. it certainly didn't stop him from running around trying to ride his new bike, although he was far more interested in spinning the wheels on his bike than riding it! We couldn't get the candle to stay alight as the wind had picked up, somehow I don't think that bothered him, he was too busy grabbing at the cake, he did get a few handfuls, not sure if he was too keen on the taste of his cake! Lochie is growing up so quickly & we love spending time with him, he always has plenty of smiles & cuddles for everyone especially his Opa, these two have a very special bond & it makes my heart so happy!! In four months Lochie is going to be a BIG BROTHER!! We will be welcoming another little blue bundle around the end of August & everyone is very excited :)

Easter Sunday 2010.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter! We spent most of the day with our children & grandchildren, which was lovely to all be together again! Later in the afternoon after the girls had gone, we headed down to Kurrawa beach, we couldn't believe how packed it was, there were people everywhere, there were hundreds of people swimming, they must have been Southerner's as it was quite cool standing on the beach let alone being in the water!!We still have quite a few Easter eggs hanging about in the fridge, but they belong to the kiddos, which is probably a good thing, I think I've had my fair share of chocolatey goodness to last me awhile! Needless to say all that smooth velvety chocolate hasn't been any good for my waistline or anywhere else for that matter!! Easter Monday was Loclan's first birthday, that post will becoming up soon, until then.. take care!

Pure cuteness.. that's what this little man is! He is always happy, his smile lights up his whole face. Lochie had a ball playing outside with Opa & uncles Jorday & Sam the other afternoon. He chased the cats, played with the soccer ball, picked up the big leaves he spotted on the ground all with this big smile on his face! We're so happy he's back. I will say that he made me work for the photos I took that afternoon... he's a bundle of energy & pretty quick on his feet, not bad for a little boy who's only just started to walk!

What's so special about today you ask?? Well... Amanda, Wilson & little Lochie arrived home from 4 1/2 months in NZ! We are SO happy they are back home. Lochie has grown so much, he is walking & saying a few words. He wasn't really sure of us at first, but I think after a little while he remembered who we were.. his laughter is a wonderful sound & one we have missed dearly!! Now we look forward to Easter & celebrating Lochie's 1st birthday on Easter Monday & spending some time with this handsome little guy... I'm looking forward to having toys everywhere & toddler proofing my home & I couldn't be happier... :)

Soccer Season..

Today Samuel had a fun game against another under 10's team, even though it was was quite warm in the sun, (believe me it was hot we are all sunburnt!!) the boys had a great game, there are some really talented players in both teams! Samuel had actually been selected for the under 10's development team by one of the scouts for the club... Sam declined, he wanted to stay with his team & his coach, he said that there was no one who could coach him better than the coach he already had... his dad! Sam has the makings of a great player, he's already asked his dad to be his manager when he's older, he's very ambitious... he LOVES soccer & one day wants to play overseas! I have no doubt he will!

The photos are not the best, but sometimes it's about capturing the moments in life without everything being technically correct!! Tomorrow is a very special day.. I will be back then to let you know why :)

As promised here a few more photos of sweet little Avah. Jaimie & Avah came to visit today & ending up spending the whole day with me.... they were the perfect distraction! To just relax & enjoy this time was exactly what I needed to help lower the stress levels... even if it was only for a little while! Avah is really starting to interact with every one, it's so beautiful to see her face light up when you talk to her, her smiles are just precious & when she starts her sweet cooing... oh my heart starts to melt. Avah is a delight, you can't help but be happy when she's around, she is pure sweetness. And yes... there were more photos taken today & I'll share some with you soon! Happy weekend everyone :)

Today these darling little cherubs are 2 months & 11 months old! Yes they're exactly 9 months apart to the day!! Hard to believe that Lochie will be 1 next month, we miss him so much but hopefully Lochie & Amanda will be back home with in the next few weeks :) He is crawling & has now taken his first steps this week!

As for Avah, well this little princess has brought nothing but absolute joy to the family! She has this thing with her tongue, it's always sticking out through those gorgeous pink lips... always! Avah is so much like her mummy not only in looks, but she can be feisty, demanding, impatient & she will totally crack it if she does not get her way (already!!) just like her mummy!! but... she is also pure sweetness, her smiles & there's lots of them now, well they just melt my heart! I love it when she starts making her little noises, they are the sweetest sounds! We are blessed to have these gorgeous babies in our lives!

That's how long this wonderful man & I have been together! He is an amazing husband, father & yes we can now add grandfather or opa to the list! We have six gorgeous children... 3 boys & 3 girls we also have two beautiful grandchildren. The kids & I ALWAYS come first, our every need is met above & beyond! Roy has always been a hands on dad right from the beginning, night feeds, nappies you name it he did it & loved every minute of it! I remember when our grandson was born he told me not to get too attached as Lochlan was not ours but our grandson... yeah right like I was not going to become attached, well let me just say... yes I become very attached to this beautiful little boy, but... I was NOT the only one! so you can just imagine what he is like with our granddaughter Avah! My hubby is the type of guy that would give you the shirt of his back & his last dollar. He is my best friend, my soul mate, my knight in shining armour & I don't know where I'd be without him. As some of you know Roy recently lost his job, but he remains positive & tells me that it's onto bigger & better things... I don't let him see my tears! Roy has been called out to two call outs tonight (he is still on a roster for being on call with one of the company's he worked for) he is a remarkable man, this company in actual fact it's not so much the company it is one man who runs the Gold Coast office, this man is the one who wormed Roy out so his drinking buddy could have the job!! a man who broke his ankle just before he was supposed to start with the company & now only works when he feels like it & simply refuses to be on call, a man who has only himself to think about, he doesn't have kids to worry about!!! it makes me so mad, I don't know how people can be so selfish, I told Roy not to be on call for them anymore, but he says he will honour his word... it's a pity the same can't be said for certain other people!!!! He is a better person then I'll ever be! Before he left he made sure the house was locked up & we were safe! In a few weeks we celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary, I can't think of anyone else I'd rather spend the rest of my life with, I love him with every ounce of my being... I'm truly blessed!

Well we're almost done, today is the last day of January & the PAD is coming to an end! Yesterday's photo was not my intended photo for the day, but when I found these two playing in the rain {if you could call it that!!} well how could I not take photos!! Sam is such a character, he's always hamming it up, especially when the camera is around!! Yes I know he is wearing a singlet that is way too small, I wash it & put it away in the pile of clothes that are too small for him, but he keeps pulling it out & wearing it, he says he likes his red singlet... who am I to argue with that! Tayla & Sam said the rain was cold, but they ended up playing in it until it stopped simply because it was nice & cool being in the rain... can't say I blame them, it's been so hot lately!!

Just me & my girl tonight, the boys are having a boys night out at Skilled Park watching Gold Coast United play against Melbourne! We love it when it's just us girls, right now as I sit at the computer she's watching The Wizards of Waverly Place in peace & quiet!
We were lucky enough to have two gorgeous girls drop in for a visit... you guessed it, Jaimie & Avah! I love having cuddles with Avah especially when she's really tired & just snuggles right in!

I'm a little behind with my photo a day posting!! We've been busy getting the kids ready for school etc, I have only a few days to go then the photo a day will be finished, where does the time go?? Hope you enjoy days 18-28 :)

Day 28... Bubbles, candles & peace & quiet = BLISS! This last week hasn't been so great, this is just what I needed :)

Day 27... First day of school 2010. Tayla in year 7 & Sam in year 5. I can't believe Tayla is in her last year of primary school!

Day 26... Happy Australia Day!! Sam knows how to stay cool!

Day 25... The perfect ending to a lovely day, everyday should end like this! I LOVE living where we live!

Day 24... Sam loves playing his Pokemon on his DS & he's always trying to talk me into buying him another Pokemon game :P

As I post this today at 8.21am, it's already so hot here on the Coast! I started the housework early, but even at 6.30am the air was quite hot & thick! it's not going to be a pleasant day today! Time to close up the house crank up the air con & just chill... pun intended!! I have all the kids' books to cover with contact and all the pens, pencils etc. to name... this is NOT one of my favourite things to do! I can't believe the holidays are nearly over, they have gone so quickly this Summer, Sam & Tayla are more than ready for school to start!!

Catching up on my Photo a Day posts! Hope everyone is doing great! Can't believe how quickly time is going by, the kids go back to school in 2 weeks!!! Avah is a week old tomorrow, she is doing so well, feeding & sleeping & seems to like her awake time to be in the early hours of the morning, we're hoping to do her newborn photos soon, so it's great that she's so sleepy through the day, but hopefully she will start to be more awake through the day very soon! I will leave you with my photos from the last few days, so far so good, wonder if I can manage to do a photo everyday... time will tell :)

They're not the best photos as they were taken with my iPhone!! Avah is 2 days old in these photos! We called in to drop off some teeny tiny outfits for Avah, Sam & Tayla couldn't resist having cuddles with Avah & I must admit that I couldn't resist either!! Sam even asked if we could take her home, we're all totally in love with this sweet tiny bundle! Things are going really well, Avah had her hearing test yesterday & passed with flying colours, she is a little jaundiced but Jaimie says she's looking less yellow today! Avah is feeding & sleeping well so Jaimie's able to get some much needed rest! Jaimie is a complete natural when it comes to being a mummy & I'm so proud of her.

Introducing Avah Rose...

She is here!! Avah Rose, born 6.44am, 5/01/10, weighing 7 pounds 10 ounces & 52cms long! I'm so proud of Jaimie, she had been in labour for around 26 hours with little sleep & delivered her beautiful baby girl naturally using only gas to help ease the pain! There were a few times I was close to tears... it's hard watching your baby girl go through labour, knowing exactly what she's going through wishing so much to be able to take her pain away... knowing that you can't! Jaimie & Avah are now home where they can settle in & at least get some sleep! Needless to say I'm absolutely & totally in love with Avah & her name suits her perfectly, she has lots of black hair, she's beautiful & she's perfect! We're feeling very blessed to have 6 beautiful children & now 2 gorgeous grandbabies & they're exactly 9 months apart to the day!!!
I thought it was only fitting that today's photo for the January Photo a Day should be of Avah [& Nana of course :D] To everyone who has kept Jaimie in their thoughts & prayers... Thank you, it means so much!

We're hoping our Granddaughter will make her entrance in the next 24 hours!! Jaimie's having contractions they just need to become regular & closer together before we head off to the hospital! As her mama, I'm having trouble seeing her in so much pain, I wish I could take the pain from her even if it was just for a little while so she can get some rest, she's exhausted! Please keep Jaimie in your prayers!!

There are a few online groups that participate in a January Photo a Day challenge every year, so this year I thought why not! So here are my photos for the first 4 days of January 2010.

I will keep you posted on any news, hopefully my next post I'll be introducing my Granddaughter to you, so stay tuned :)

I know I've been missing for awhile & I've missed you all!! I wanted to start the new year off with a quick post to wish you all a Happy New Year, may 2010 be filled with health, happiness & love!

Today (what's left of today!) 01.01.2010 is the due date of our Granddaughter, but she seems quite happy to stay right where she is! We are all very excited especially Jaimie & she's a little scared too! I hope this little bundle makes her appearance soon, Jaimie's a bit uncomfortable & has been having contractions for the last few weeks. I will let you all know when she makes her entrance into the world!

I am blessed to have such wonderful friends, including all my online friends, most of whom I've never met.. something I hope to change one day! There is one friend who I miss terribly... Rachael, and even though we don't live too far away from each other, it's been awhile since we've been able to get together! Rachael is one of the most beautiful people I know, always there for you no matter what, she listens to you, really listens, never judges & has the most heart warming smile, she has a wonderful husband, two gorgeous girls & a beautiful baby boy! When we do manage to catch up, it's as if we were never apart! I love her girls, Maddison with her shy sweet smile & Miss Ainsleigh who ALWAYS makes me laugh, I miss them dearly & they are all in my thoughts & prayers everyday. The quote “Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.” is so true, Rachael has definitely left footprints on my heart & I know I'll never be the same! So Rach, if you get to read this, I know how busy life can be with a little one, but know I miss you & your gorgeous family, I thank you with all my heart for knowing me & still wanting to be my friend... much love to you all.... xxxx

Samuel LOVES soccer, that could very well be an understatement! The first time he watched a soccer match at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, he turned to my hubby & said "that will be me one day daddy, I'm going to play on that field"!! Sam really enjoys watching the matches at the stadiums, he gets right into it, sitting in the dusty air on Saturday night at Skilled Park didn't bother him in the slightest! This year he played soccer for an under 10's team... with each game, his skill, his confidence & his hunger for the game grew. Sometimes his desire to be the best worries me, but his daddy says it will be what gives him the edge to be the very best he can be! He wants to be like Ronaldinho or Ronaldo! So his sights are set very high, but with his passion & determination I believe he will achieve his goals in life both on & off the field, simply because... it's in his blood...

Ava's Tea Party.

On August 22nd we had our own little 'Tea Party' to honor Ava "Super Princess" and all that she represents! We celebrated with pink cupcakes, pink milkshakes, pink tea (strawberry!) & lots of other pink goodies!! It is a tradition that her Mum, Sheye Rosemeyer has started with her own family. to remember & to celebrate sweet Ava! I decided that it would be a tradition for my family too! to remember & celebrate Ava & to also take time to just be with my family, to cherish every moment I have with them! Sheye is an inspiration in so many ways, so giving of her time, so willing to help, she has incredible strength she is a remarkable woman.. I truly admire her! Sheye & Ava... I hold them in my heart, for they have given me so much & for that I am forever grateful..... xxx

Well hello everyone it's been such a long time, but I'm back with wonderful news & how appropriate for my 200th post!! Our grandson Lachlan arrived safely on Sunday 5th April (his due date!) weighing 6lbs 60zs & 52cm long! Amanda had a good labour but it wasn't all smooth sailing! Having a c-section was mentioned but thankfully she avoided one. I will say that seeing Lachlan being born was absolutely amazing... it has moved me in a way I never thought possible... to feel so much love for this little man was overwhelming to say the least.. it's wow amazing!! He's just the sweetest little boy, very alert & he just looks at you forever when you talk to him... he's beautiful! I'm so very proud of Amanda she did so well.. love you sweetheart! I will be back with some more photos later & I will be stopping by to say hi... sorry it's been so long! xxxxx

Remembering Ava.. "Super Princess" Always in my heart & always remembered! We released balloons for Ava yesterday.. I watched with tears as they floated away until I could no longer see them... Tayla & Samuel collected shells and laid them out to spell Ava's name.. I love my children so much it hurts.. yes even when they are driving me crazy.. it's times like this.. that make me so very grateful that I'm able to do all the things with my children.. hug them, read to them, kiss them goodnight, explore new places with them, tell them I love them & hear "I love you too"... all the things we so often take for granted! I treasure every moment I have with my family even more than ever... Thank you Ava... xxxxx

We had a great night New Year's Eve.. we arrived in Surfers Paradise around 8pm & it was packed.. roads were closed off, something they do every year.. we found somewhere to park & then started our walk into the madness! People were everywhere in the streets, on the beach, grass areas along the sidewalk.. you name it they were there!! We ate gourmet pizzas for dinner ( they were divine!) walked around the shops & along the beach, we found some glowsticks for Sam & Tayla, Missy Mu had to have a crown :D of course, then we found somewhere to sit & wait for the big countdown. Sam had fun playing in the sand & chasing seagulls (one of his favourite things to do at the beach!!) & trying to jump over the waves, Roy went off to get coffee.. it only took him 3/4's of an hour to get back!! just in time for the countdown & the fireworks. The fireworks were kicked off on top of the Q1... then down to the barge out on the water.. it was definitely a spectacular show! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve.. I wish each & everyone of you all the very best for 2009!! xx

I can't believe that in just over seven hours 2008 will be over!! Today we have been swimming, out for lunch, got some great bargains shopping & now we are relaxing watching movies, eating some delicious snacks & Roy & I are having a few drinks before we head out to celebrate the end of 08 & to welcome in 2009! Christmas Eve...
Well we did some last minute shopping, the kids went swimming, we had roast turkey & pork with lots of yummy baked veges, craziness I know considering it had been around 36 degrees when I started cooking.. not nice!! A storm rolled in & it rained for hours so the kids couldn't sprinkle reindeer food, which they weren't too happy about!! I fell into bed at 2.30am Christmas morning only to be woken TWO hours later!!

Christmas Day...

Christmas Day started very early... 4.30am to be exact!! We held them of for a little while lol!! We opened our presents, had a leisurely breakfast, then the girls came over for more presents, then it was off to have lunch with some of our family, more food & the best eggnog ever :))) All in all I think everyone had a wonderful day. Boxing Day (no photos) we had the Ryff Family at our place to celebrate Chris's birthday (Roy's older brother) it has been a tradition ever since I can remember, even though Chris does not like the attention so much.. I think he does enjoy the fact we get together to celebrate his special day! At the end of the day I was exhausted & so ready for bed. Since then we have just chilled at home the kids in the pool & me in the a/c lol!!! it has been very hot indeed this Summer! xx

Well it's only an hour & 48 mins until Christmas here in Oz anyaway!! I've been flat out the last couple of days... shopping, shopping & more shopping & had my hair & nails done, priorities I tell ya LOL!!! Now as I sit typing & drinking a Crown Lager (beer!) it's still so hot & I still have presents to wrap! Tonight we've had a lovely roast turkey & pork with baked veges for dinner, yeah I know crazy considering it was nearly 37 degrees before lunch! & the thunderstorm has done nothing to cool things down! I just wanted to wish my blogging friends a very MERRY CHRISTMAS I hope you all have a wonderful day with your families :)

Photos from Amanda's birthday on Friday... her precious bump is getting bigger, although Amanda may look tiny still, this is huge for her as she is such a tiny build!! Amanda received perfume & we bought her a new camera, didn't want her to miss out on taking photos once baby is here! Sam & Tayla were amazed at how big Amanda's tummy is getting, loved seeing them just being together... makes me very happy even a little teary! xx

Here are the photos I took last Sunday! First up some of our room, Sunrise, looking straight down from 55 stories high made me feel quite ill!!! The views were amazing, you could see the clouds so well.. for some reason I could have sat there all day just watching the clouds!!! It's funny but looking out from here it was like seeing it for the very first time...

This time from my beautiful friend Dani all the way from Kentucky in the States!! Dani, thank you so much for my gorgeous new pj's, they will come in handy come winter time, I did have the a/c cranked up when Roy took the photo, it was around 9.30pm & still so hot!!! I also have a new addiction (like I needed another one!!) Reese's Peanut Butter Cups... what can I say except for... oh no Dani, what have you started LOL!! lucky for me they're from the States!! they are divine!! We had a great night away, we had lunch, coffee, dinner & then breakfast with no Mum, Dad, we're bored or are you ready yet or I'm hungry or thirsty lol!!! but we did miss the kids big time!! Our room was 37 stories up with views to the hinterland, Roy tried to get beach views but out of over 100 stories between 2 buildings they were fully booked! We did a little Christmas shopping, hubby bought me a gorgeous pair of black Sachi high heels.. he insisted... what's a girl to do :D Our time away went way too fast, so for our anniversary in Feb, we're hoping to get away for two nights! I will post some photos I took on Sunday from level 55!!!!! the views were amazing! Be back with that later, off to do more Christmas shopping!! xx

That it's only 9 days until Christmas!!! I'm NOT ready!! I've got so much to do & so little time to do it!! not to mention we've got one more birthday to celebrate before Christmas!! Amanda will be celebrating her birthday this Friday... 6 days before Christmas! It'll all get done I know it will, lucky the shops stay open a little later this time of year! A little BLUE bundle will be arriving sometime around the 11th of April!!! Amanda our eldest daughter is 24 wks pregnant & everything is going very well!! This week has been busy.. with last minute things to do before the kids finish school for the Summer, going to the movies, coffee dates & lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday & it's been tiring... but so much fun!! To top of my wonderful week, two packages have arrived from afar!! Tabitha sent my gift which arrived the other day, I opened the package read the beautiful cards & placed the gift under my tree... the kids kept bugging me about opening it, so I did!! I absolutely love my gift Tabitha!! my favourite chocolates (still unopened!!) & a gorgeous silver star, which I'm going to hang my keys on, that way I'll never be able to loose them :) Next gift to arrive was from Amanda. The kids are asking me how come you're getting these gifts & from overseas???? so I told them about my Snail Mail friends.. they said "how cool!" & "it must be wonderful to receive gifts from your friends around the world," I told them that the gifts were wonderful, but it's the friendships that are special!! Anyway Amanda sent me these gorgeous products for some pampering over the holidays.. they smell heavenly especially the lip balm!! Thank you so much Tabitha & Amanda :) I have lots to post, I will be back hopefully Sunday afternoon, Roy & I are having a night in Surfers Paradise Saturday night complaints of Jaimie, thank you baby!! we leave in the morning & will be back Sunday around lunch time.. School's out for another year!!! I can't believe we are here again.... time seems to be speeding up!!! I got a few of the two little ones leaving for their last day of school... we were running very late, it was raining & they just wanted to get to school! I was going to get them coming out of school but again it was raining.. So that's it school's out for the next six weeks... yay!! No lunches, uniforms (except for Roy!!) no screaming "we're going to be late" & no school run!!!

I took these photos a few days before the Formal.. I'm so glad I did, it absolutely bucketed on the Formal night (at least we didn't have to worry about hair & makeup!!) Seeing Nick all dressed up really did a number on me!!!!.. I could see him on his Wedding Day!!!.... fortunately that's awhile off yet! It's so hard to believe that our first born son is already a young man!!

The night of Nick's Formal was held at The Royal Pines Resort at Ashmore.. Nick arrived in style in an Aston Martin!! A big thank you to S for taking time out of his busy schedule & driving Nick to his Formal!! There was a little commotion when some of the photographers realized it really was an Aston Martin pulling up lol!!!! Nick had a great night celebrating the end of school!!

My favourite car.. & not just because "James Bond" drives one!! (although that does help!) lol :)

Nick got a little nervous when he arrived, & opted to get out just before the entrance where hundreds of people were waiting for their children. grandchildren etc, to arrive... even S told Roy it was a little daunting arriving to such a huge crowd!!

Eighteen years ago...

On the 20/11/1990, this little guy made his entrance into the world.. 6 weeks early weighing a tiny 3lbs 14ozs!!! Nick's first twelve months were rough, we almost lost him when he was 10 months old, this is when we were told that he had asthma! Nick is such a trooper, he doesn't normally say alot & then there are other times when we can't shut him up.. normally in the car! Last week was a very busy week for Nick, Tuesday 18th... Formal, Thursday 20th.. his 18th birthday & his Graduation Night, Friday 21st... Nick's last day of school! I can not tell you where those last 18 years have gone.. but I do know they have gone by ever so quickly! I will be back with photos of Nick's Formal & Graduation Night.. but for now here's a few taken when he was a day old (I think!!) & on his 18th birthday. We are so proud of the amazing young man Nick has become :) xx

I spent today with my beautiful friend Rachael... I have missed Rachael & her gorgeous family ( more than I thought possible!!) since they've moved to Brisbane... so today it was so lovely to just spend the day together laughing, catching up on what our kids are up to, drinking coffee, having lunch, shopping for Rachael's baby (gosh Rach, my ovaries are still aching!) & enjoying each other's company! Rachael stops by my blog every week to see what we've been up to... Rachael's girls know when she is looking at my blog because they hear the music & her hubby always wants to check it out & asks has she done anything about her photography yet? & I have to say it does my soul good!!!! To Rachael & Jas THANK YOU so much for believing in me & for ALWAYS encouraging me, you don't know how much it means to me! & Rach thank YOU for spending the day with me & I can't wait to see you in a couple of weeks... We often wake to these hot air balloons.. we were watching these ones at 6.30 this morning.... the blue, white & red hot air balloon was right above our house.... it was so close!!! The kids thought seeing the "fire" when they were descending was very cool!! It was the perfect morning for hot air ballooning... a beautiful way to start the day for some very lucky people!!! xx

Is my baby girl.. this photo was taken at my brother's wedding just over 4 years ago.. I can't believe how little Tayla is! I searched everywhere for the perfect dress for her to wear, this dress was it... simple but elegant & the perfect colour for her! (then again this girl can wear any colour & they all look fabulous on her!!!) I don't have many photos of Tayla in her gorgeous dress as I was a bridesmaid so I was kind of busy... & this isn't the best one but I LOVE it... you cant really see her face clearly, but it doesn't stop my baby girl from being totally adorable :) xx

Since last Summer... the kids had a ball on Saturday down at Currumbin, we are so lucky to have these beautiful beaches on our doorstep! I must say the water was too cold for me!! although I was tempted to join the boys out on the boards.. I am going to get my own board & get out there & have some fun this summer.... the weather was beautiful... warm with a slight breeze just how I like it! It was a great way to spend the day, we ended the day with a bbq & a few drinks... perfect :) xx

1. I always wear my watch.. although my new one apparently doesn't like steam so it doesn't go into the shower with me!!

2. I absolutely love strawberries only fresh ones.... dislike strawberry ice-cream & milkshakes etc.!!

3. I like to be on time, it drives me nuts if I'm late & my other half is constantly running late... except on our wedding day, he
was actually early!!

4. I hang my washing out a certain way & have been known to take it down & redo it if it's not done to my liking!! needless to
say I hang it out all the time :)

5. I wear lip balm all the time... if I forget to take one with me I will buy a new one... Napolean is huge favourite!

6. I colour my hair regularly, more so now that the grey's are starting to show!!!!

Dreamworld... a few weeks before the holidays, Gold Coast show long weekend, Friday was a public holiday, we took the kids to Dreamworld in the afternoon, they always have a fun when we go, but this time I think dad might have had just a little more fun than the kids! I had a couple of rides too... I went on the Rapid Ride & the Stingray, I'm not a ride kind of girl so this was huge for me lol!!! Roy went on the Giant Drop with Nick & Jordy, me & my big mouth, said it didn't look too bad & will have a go next time where are there! maybe not lol!!!!! so here are some photos from our visit...

And the warmer weather are here!! On the Coast it has been rather warm today, especially in the sun, & now we have some major storm activity inland which no doubt we will feel the affects of! I have to say today was like the start of all things new... (for me anyway!) the air was like a warm kiss on your face, it was so nice to wear a cute little dress & flip flops, & big shock didn't wear any makeup ( which for me is huge lol!!) when I went out to the shops, I was however wearing Chanel so I was all good! I even bought myself flowers... which always makes me happy :)
With the arrival of the warmer weather usually means trips to the beach & many hours in the pool! which also means the time is NOW for getting back into shape!! I'm dreading it, but know it will be worth it in the end lol!!!! I'm soooo glad the kids are on holidays for the next two weeks, I really need a break from our day to day routine & to recharge my batteries.... don't have any plans we are just going to chill!! we have talked about trips to Dreamworld, the beach & a few other things but nothing is planned, just playing everything by ear! I simply love this time of the year, even though the countdown to Christmas is on... I saw Christmas cards today!!! I love everything about Spring, the flowers, the warmth in the air, holidays, the bbq's everything except.... the magpies!

Turns to sadness, the little bundle of joy that would have joined us early next year is no more! Becoming grandparents is something we knew would happen one day... just not yet! but we accepted it & looked forward to meeting this little person! I had picked out her first bracelet & her first Christmas dress, if it had a been a boy well needless to say he would have had his first pair of soccer boots & a soccer ball long before he could walk!!! I was so excited, never thought for a second that it would be over before it really started! My heart shattered when I saw her face after the ultrasound, I knew that it was bad news! I know it happens so many times but you never think it will happen to someone you love!!

This morning Samuel asked me if I could go to his assembly in the afternoon as he was getting an award, of course I would be there I told him! So at assembly they go through all the class awards then they start talking about some very special awards.. for students who participated in a maths exam earlier on in the term, Samuel was one of the students who did & to my complete surprise Samuel got a Credit woohoo!!!!! so now he has a certificate from the NSW University congratulating him on his achievements , then he was presented with a Thumbs Up award for good behaviour, that makes two of these awards this year which is not so easy to get once they are in year 3 & up... so his mama is just a little proud :D
Sorry I've been such a bad blogger :( but life has been so busy, the kids had a day off on Friday, public holiday for our local show, so when dad got home from work off to Dreamworld we went, Saturday we were at the Gold Coast Show, Sunday we had a bbq in the park for my niece... (I will be posting all of those photos soon) then later on in the afternoon I had a wine & nibblies afternoon with some of my wonderful friends, we had a fantastic afternoon!!! Monday saw me back working at the school again, & I will be there until early December, it's only a few hours a day but it still messes with my day, thank goodness I don't work full time LOL!!! & not to mention my addiction to the Stephanie Meyer books, Twilight & New Moon I have just finished & I can't wait to start the next one!!! As for my news.... SOON... my friends, very SOON, I will say that we are very excited :D

They Love Me...

Through all my faults & there are many! they love me for me! They don't care for the things their mama does... they don't care how my hair is or what clothes i wear, they don't care about the car i drive or whether i need to lose a few kilos, they don't care what brand of make up i use or what perfume i wear, or whether i wear jewellery or not, but they do care about ME! I give my all for my kids, nothing comes before my kids, nothing!! I have sacrificed so much for my kids & i'd do it all again in a heart beat, they are my everything! they make me proud each & everyday, they do drive me crazy at times, but i love them none the less! I try to make them proud too, by looking after myself, taking pride in my appearance... i always put a little make up on each morning & as you know i wear perfume everyday & i think they are proud of their mama, just little things i hear from time to time, like one of their friends might have said how pretty i looked or how young i look LOL!!! so i guess it makes them proud! So regardless of all my self doubts & faults they love me anyway LOL! These photos make me so happy! I love Sammy's big smooch's they are the simply the best!! & my girls (well two of them anyway!) they are just gorgeous, today as i have looked back at photos to share with you these ones stood out for me, (don't worry i have plenty more to share :)) I am blessed... not only with beautiful children, but with children that love ME!! For Jordan (Dani I knew you'd guess who it was!!) our boy turned 14 today!! The photo from the previous post was taken when Jordy was 4 days old, it was the day I was leaving hospital to go home & I was extremely emotional, I didn't like to leave my little man in hospital.... so the nurse in intensive care suggested we take a photo, she came up with the idea of putting my wedding ring on Jordy's little finger... she said "your ring will always be the same size & Jordan will grow bigger & stronger everyday" which made me sob even harder!! So today is a day, back then we weren't sure would come... & even though this boy knows how to push my buttons & push them well... I am beyond happy that this day indeed did come! tonight Jordy is playing his last game of the season, so we will be going out for dinner tomorrow night! I'm hoping to do his birthday photos tomorrow there was simply no time this afternoon & I am feeling absolutely exhausted & not too well.. so hopefully there will be more tomorrow!! The beautiful Miss Dani asked me if I scrapbooked! Scrapbooking is something I love to do... I haven't scrapped in awhile but I am hoping to change that, the kids love looking through the albums so after I've finished this post I'm going to grab some photos (I had these printed before the kids went on holidays with the intention of scrapping them ha ha!!!) & my supplies & start a new page for my albums!! I guess because I have literally thousands of photos it is very hard to know where to start, but if I don't make a start they will forever stay in shoe boxes & on discs never to be seen, apart from the ones that make it on to my blog LOL! so here a few I've pulled out of the albums to share with you! :) xx

Have been sorting through photos for a project... have found some totally adorable photos of the two little ones, gosh they have grown so much!!!! The quality is not so great as they have been scanned in, but doesn't stop them from being so cute!!!!!
Well the news from the Orthodontist, they all have very healthy teeth, but they all need braces at some stage! Sam & Tayla will be monitored every six months or so, & Jordan will have his braces on very soon, so next week he's off to the dentist for a check up & to have a tooth repaired, some enamel has not formed properly, but the tooth is very healthy so that's great! then Jordy needs to have two teeth removed to make some room in his mouth & then back to the orthodontist to get things started... eventually he will need his wisdom teeth out, as there is simply no room for them to come through, once Jordy has his braces on we have to look at booking Nick in for surgery to remove his wisdom teeth.. so all in all it wasn't too bad just shy of $ 6 000 but it's all good, can only imagine when Sam & Tayla have their braces on how much they will be then, so I'm thinking I probably will own part of the orthodontist's car by the time we are finished LOL!!!!
On to my computer, Apple have finally said enough is enough & they are sending a brand new computer our way... yay... hopefully that will be the end of our computer troubles!!!!! I hope everyone has had a great day :) xxx

I'm over WINTER.....

Seriously I am!!!! It has been very cold, our overnight temps have been getting down to 4 degrees & up to about 18-20 degrees through the day.... not freezing I know but it is very cold none the less!!! Nick has been back to the doctor today, he is simply not getting any better, he had one of his coughing fits the ones where he can't breath in the doctors surgery, I was totally freaked out while his doctor sat there ever so calmly... I felt like an absolute idiot while wiping away my tears, he regained his composure looked at me and said "it's alright mum I'm ok"!!!!! so typical of Nick never worried about himself & never ever does he complain about being so unwell... he is on his second course of antibiotics & heavy duty steriods, he really needs his health to pick up soon he is going into week 4 of being unwell, he is tired from all the sleepless nights, he is tired from all the coughing, he is TIRED full stop, so we are hoping & praying that this new medication works & works soon!!!
Tomorrow & Wednesday all the munchkins are home, much to Tayla & Samuel's disgust, (they love school so much!!!) Tuesday, Jordan, Tayla & Sam are off to the Orthodontist... Jordan will be having braces put on very soon & the two little ones are just having the Orthodontist check their teeth, I fear they will both need braces in the future! Wednesday the kids get the day off school for the Ekka ( a big show with rides, animals, show bags etc, etc,) in Brisbane, we have our own show on the Coast at the end of August, it is much smaller & is enough for the kids, they have a few rides, eat disgusting show food, choose sample bags & watch the fireworks at the end of the night & it's 15 mins from home.... perfect!!!! That's provided no one is sick, Roy & I have the start of the flu, Jordy is not feeling 100% & the two little ones are absolutely fine! they wear no jumpers at school, constantly forget to put their slippers on & say "it's not cold"!!!!! just TYPICAL!!!! Well I've run out of tissues & it's time for medication & a hot cuppa & some yummy apple & walnut loaf hubby brought home.... just hope I can taste it!! I really am over WINTER!! Take care :) xxxx

Is what the U14 A team are! For so many weeks now they have not had a full team! They have done really well considering some of their team mates just can't be bothered any more, so much for team spirit!!! They had a fantastic game Friday night & they won yay team!! Then today, like last Sunday (these Sunday matches are makeup games due the rain) half the team don't show up.... some text Roy 15 minutes before the game starts to say they can't make it! I'm sorry but I am totally peeved about this... why do parents sign their kids up & believe you me it's not cheap, only to not make an effort, especially with the away games... you sign you make a commitment not only to yourself but to team mates & a coach who are counting on you to be there for training & matches! Last Sunday they had 8 players & chose to be defeated the hard way over forfeiting the match... today they had 9 thanks to someone making an effort to help out his mates, I'm angry today.... so bloody angry, that the opposing team who are over all winners mind you, had the audacity to put our players down, laugh when one of our players received a nasty knock to the head & continued to play on, such a champ... who thought it was ok to play dirty with fists & what's really disgusting the parents of these kids were just as bad no WORSE they should know better! Now this team scored goal after goal, not all that hard considering their opposition were down 5 players & several were sick or injured, so me being the mum that I am made it very clear what I thought of their son's cowardly efforts on the field!!! I have never seen such disgusting sportsmanship!!!!! To our boys & girl I'm am so very proud of all of you.... you have shown true courage & team spirit, you can hold your heads high & although the other team scored the goals you guys are the real winners!!!!! Samuel felt so bad for his brother that he ripped of his jumper & said I'm ready to play mum, i can play just as well as anyone out there! Bless him... you know he is right.. this boy has a heart for the game!!!! Now that I have had my say & have gotten that off my chest here are some photos of both last Sunday & today... Well not quite.... On Saturday night we boarded "The Lady" & cruised the broadwater for my nephew's 30th birthday! it was just beautiful with all the lights from Surfers Paradise & Marina Mirage... it was very cold, but it was nice & warm on the lower deck, which is where just about everybody stayed. I was a little nervous as the kids haven't been on a boat let alone on one at night, but they were fine, they were so good... Samuel was very tired & ended sleeping under our table.... I guess when you're tired you're tired! We had a great night, Tayla had a little groove on the dance floor with some of her cousins, I love the fact that they got her up to dance considering that most of them are only a few years younger than me LOL!! It was so nice just to sit back have a few drinks & catch up with family.

It was an absolute pleasure meeting Elise, Troy, Sav & Blake!!!! they are the most beautiful family! I was made feel so welcome... Elise & I chatted away for ages & for me it felt like we have always been friends... Sav is absolutely gorgeous, full of life & so very sweet, baby Blake... oh what can I say... the most handsome little prince, I got to have cuddles with Blake & it was just amazing to be holding this little baby I had only ever seen on my computer screen! the love just pours from this family.. it is beautiful to see them together... they are what family is meant to be! The Week So Far....

Has been.... exhausting, stressful, frightening, expensive, entertaining & exciting! We have been at the doctor's surgery 3 times in 3 days with Nick, his asthma has been bad this last week, waking up in the early hours to hear your child gasping for air is absolutely terrifying, (we almost lost Nick when he was 10 months old after he suffered a massive asthma attack, let me just say, the last few nights have brought back some very scary memories!) after different medications, the doctors finally decided to put Nick on steriods, HELLO why take so bloody long to figure that one out!!!!!! he's only had asthma since he was a baby!!!!! within hours of being on steriods, Nick had improved big time, he's still home from school but doing so much better :)
As for the entertaining & exciting stuff.... Samuel & Tayla had their variety night performances on Wednesday night, Sam's class did a take on the song Grease Lightning.... the kids did an awesome job, & really enjoyed themselves during the performance, Samuel LOVES to dance & it showed... he can just dance & he does it so well!!!! One of the Deputy Principal's said he needs to be on stage, he's so smooth it's incredible, might explain why he is always surrounded by girls LOL!!! Tayla's performance was a bit more subdued, there were several groups showing different aspects of the Gold Coast... she was only on for a few minutes before the whole class got together & sang the final song of the night, so there aren't many photos of Tayla (the lighting was pathetic to say the least!) but they both had a wonderful night & were a little tired today!!
Tomorrow (it's almost Friday as I type this :D) I'm off to Brisbane to meet Elise, Troy, Savanna & baby Blake! I can't wait to meet them... I will be sure to post photos... I just hope I don't get lost, Roy has installed a GPS system in my car... bless him, & I have to phone when I get there & when I leave.... I told him I was a grown woman for crying out loud!!! but I'm so grateful that he is the way he is!! love him to pieces! Okay it's late & I need to get to bed.... goodnight & sweet dreams xxxx

Samuel got a nice surprise when he got home from school this afternoon, he received his birthday present from Jaimie & a birthday card from Adam (his cousin) & his wife Frances & their children Ashleigh & Jeremy! Thanks so much you guys he got such a surprise, and Jaimie he loves his new Kung Fu Panda PS3 game :) & sends a very big thank you to you both!!

Being the Youngest...

Can have it's ups & downs... Samuel as you know is the youngest... he often gets away with things, gets a little spoilt (by both his mum & dad!!) he often tries to do the things the big boys do, sometimes he can... sometimes he can't! being the youngest sometimes means you can get pushed around a bit too!! like today... Jordan, Tayla & Samuel were outside playing some ball game & they were playing so well together (I should have known it wouldn't last!!!) next thing I know Samuel is crying... he comes inside with a nice graze on his face right near his eye! Jordan (of course) had pushed him out of the way & he fell to the ground with his face first, it hurt like crazy when I had to clean it.... needless to say that ended his fun, well for a little while anyway!! So here his my little munchkin with his grazed face & few more from today & yep that is Jordan in there as well!! Just so you all know... Jordan tends to always be where the trouble is... ALWAYS... LOL!! & with that I bid you all a goodnight. xxx

An Olympian & My New Book...

On Friday Tayla's class got a visit from one of our Olympian's, Michael... he's a member of our swim team! He was kind enough to sign Tayla's hat & she also got his autograph on paper... she said she is going to frame both the hat (at the end of the year) & the piece of paper & hang them on her wall! I love how he has written Beijing 2008 on there as well!

My new book, since I've heard so many people raving about these books I thought I had better check it out for myself... and now my new bookmark will be getting a workout!! Thanks to Katherine for putting me onto these books!

Tuesday 22nd,

Sam had a great time at sports day which also happened to be his 8th birthday! As he is still in lower primary the kids just have lots of fun activities to participate in, so next year is when the real fun begins & where they can start winning points for their house & going up for age champion which Sam is hoping for one day.... Jaimie was age champion three years running & in year 7 was House Captain & has her name on the school board... so he is aiming to join her! Some of the activities Sam participated in were high jump, long jump, hurdles, volley ball, soccer, tug-of-war, relay & the 100m sprint. He is such a sports freak he just does so well in everything, he is very, very competitive (like his dad :)) we have told him it's not always about winning, but about having fun & I must say this year he has shown a lot of maturity in this area & I'm very proud of him!

I will be back with his birthday photos after I pick the kids up from school... have to leave early to get a park close to the school as it's been pouring non stop all day.... it's so not going to be fun!!!!!

At morning tea, Sam's class sang Happy Birthday to him & he shared cupcakes with his class...

Yesterday, Wednesday 23rd was Tayla's sports day, it was overcast, windy & absolutely freezing!! No one wanted to be there, everyone just wanted to go home where it was warm!!! Tayla hurt her leg during trials for sports day before the holidays, so she didn't participate in too much, but she did run in the 800m & finished in the top fifteen which isn't too bad! high jump, long jump & shot put were the other activities Tayla had a go at... no 100m sprint though, I think doing the 800m was more than enough for her sore leg! I don't know that anyone really enjoyed themselves as it was just way too cold!!!

Samuel turned eight today... he's had a huge day, starting off with his sports day at school... lots of activities, long jump, high jump etc, he finished his sports day by winning his 100m sprint, he was so pleased with himself :) Samuel said that today was just great, "I've had the best day today mum!" bless his heart!! Anyway I'll be back with heaps more photos of his birthday & sports day... I shot almost 500 photos today, no wonder my shoulder is sore!!... I'm exhausted & I have a crappy headache so I'm off to bed! Happy Birthday little man, love you! xxxx
